Experimenting with nails

Ok so, as you may have seen a new kind of nail-art has recently become very popular: stickers. You just put them on your nail, file and voila!
Well, I really wanted to try this, but since I'm kinda cheap I was looking for something less expensive than Sally Hansen's. I found some cheap ones in Ardene. Unfortunately, because they were very metallicy, I wasn't able to put them on smooth. But, they seemed to last pretty well, so now I want to try the 'real deal'

Canada day nails - awesome right?

Unlike many other girls, I've never worn fake nails - not untill now. As a gift from my friend I got the cutest fake nails with canadian flags on them, and what better way to wear them than on Canada day?
I like my nails round instead of square, and the fake nails where way too long for my taste, so after some cutting and filing, I glued them on. At first I didn't use enough glue, so a few fell off, but I quickly got the hang of it, and I found it surprisingly easy!
It really was an awesome accesory, and even though Canada day is over, I'm keeping them on :)

Playing with Picasa

Ok so, I have a confession! I have a bad habit; when I'm supposed to study I have a tendency to get distracted, and sometimes it really doesn't take much.
One day like this I ended up playing around a bit with some of the pictures on my computer in Picasa.
Recently Picasa added more effects, so I was exploring these and quickly found my favorite, that turns your picture into 'a picture from the 60'ies', which gives it a cool vintage look.
I know there are so many photo-editing programs out there, but some are expensive and others just plain confusing. As a beginner in photo-editing I like Picasa because it's simple and more or less idiot proof. The only downside is that once you have edited your photos you have to save them on your computer again, in order for the edited picture to show outside of Picasa (for example if you want to upload it to a blog).
Picasa is free, and if you want to download it, the easiest is to just search for it on google, where you can find countless pages that lets you download it.

Paint on my hands

Yes, I'm one of those persons... whenever I paint i get it all over my hands! Sometimes it's by accident like when I lean my hand on paint that's still wet, but other times I guess you can say it's my own fault... like when I wipe the brushes on my hand or uses my arm to mix colors! Somehow, it  just works better for me than paper or other smart stuff. And well (most) paint washes off with a bit of soap.
Here are a few of my recent paintings: (all done at school)

Go jags!

It all started with our art teacher asking if some of us would help with the decorations for the school musical. Of course I volunteered, and I ended up designing, drawing and painting the backdrop that represented the sports and the school mascot - a jag. I don't think I've ever spent so many hours working on any art project, but it was worth it. I would say that it looks good on the stage, but if you go look at it up close - that's where it will really shine!
I love the idea of a little of me staying at the school even after I go home, and I've been told there's a good chance that it will be used again.
Now, I'll stop blabbering and let you see for yourself:

A different surface

This post is short, but I think there will be more coming in the same category: drawing/doodling on a different surface than usually. I find it a fun little thing to challenge myself with, and the two I'm going to show here have been so much fun making!
This first one was made during spring brweak, I just forgot to post about it. Back in september my sister and I (somehow) got onto the topic about how I love to draw on people, and she loves when people draw on her, which resluted in her promising me that I could someday decorate her whole back. In spring break we finally found the time to do it... It took three hours of laying on the floor in front of the firplace for my dear sister, who actually fell asleep at one point.
Some are just random doodles, some are jokes we have and others are just... well, colorful :)
The drawings were made with washable crayolas, so she was able to wash it off in the shower, but it sure was fun to make! And I've gotten so many people commenting on it.
I owe a thank you to my sister Liisa who was willing to 'lend me her back' and I hope she knows that I'll always have her back :) (Ok, I'm done with the lame joking - for now at least).

The next project was a cheap pair of white sneakers. How boring, you might think. And that is exactly the point! Mission: doodle all over and make them colorful and unique.
I was lucky enough to have a sunday with sun and good company on the porch, so I took a little break from the homework and started attacking the shoes with my sharpies.
It was - again - a super fun and for me  different project, and I like the outcome, which is so me!
Plus, can it get much more awesome than wearing my doodles?

A few art class projects

Oops, I just realized I haven't posted anything since spring break! Oh well, there will just be more pictures now. These are a few of my art class projects... unfortunately I left some of the best ones at school for now, but eventually I'll either bring them home, or take my camera to school :)

S is for Sleep, Sun and Spring break

Spring break! Something I have been looking forward to ever since january, and now it's finally here. I'm really enjoying the fact that I can just sleep in, and doesn't have to stress about homework.
And then an extra plus: the snow is melting, which means spring is definitly on it's way. Small patches of grass is starting to show, and many of the roads are actually free of ice.
Spring is one of my favourite seasons, and there is nothing like the first couple of days with a sun, that actually feels warm, to chase my winter-blues away.
Today is one of those days. I'm lying in just t-shirt and jeans on the porch and it feels wonderful! The only tricky thing is my computer that doesn't really like the sun because it overheats, but I don't mind the heat one little bit.

I'va started thinking... My hair is finally starting to grow a little long again after i cut it short, but! what to do with it now?

I don't want it short again, and I always get layers, so I feel like trying something different. My wish would be to have kinda red hair like this:
My fear is just that it wont turn out like this, or that it wont look good on me.

My name is Emma Tram, and I'm a doodle addict

I found a blog/webpage called "Doodlers Anonymous" (http://www.doodlersanonymous.com/) which has been my inspiration source for almost a week now! There is just so much stuff on there, and links to so many amazing artists. I'm absolutely in love!
Here is some of the small drawings and doodles I have done the last couple of days when I felt too creative to study for my exams (That is all right isn't it?).
